This detached villa is one of the two houses of the Pensione Santa Croce, which the engineer Robert Lutz, from a Swiss family, opened on this slope of the coast road after buying it in 1913. It stands halfway along the Strada Costiera, some twenty metres above the road, with an open view over the Gulf of Trieste. It was fully renovated about ten years ago.
About 200 m² on several levels, with a straightforward layout. On the ground floor, entrance, kitchen and laundry. On the lower level a large room now used for storage, easy to turn into a study, home office or guest room. Upstairs the sleeping area, with a bathroom, the main bedroom and two further rooms.
Around it, the garden with fruit trees. The house is reached on foot from the road, up a stone stair of about 120 steps.
